Was Mary a virgin when she conceived Jesus? Was she found to be with child of the Holy Ghost?
Many people are unaware that the doctrinal position of the LDS church (Mormons call "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"), is vastly different than what the Bible teaches.
Mormon Apostle, Bruce McConkie wrote:
Christ was born into the world as the literal Son of this Holy Being (Father); he was born in the same personal, real, and literal sense that any mortal son is born to a mortal father. There is nothing figurative about his paternity; he was begotten, conceived and born in the normal and natural course of events. [Mormon Doctrine, p. 742]
On pages 546-547 of the same book, Bruce McConkie also wrote:
Only means only; Begotten means begotten; and Son means son. Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers.
Mormon Apostle, Orson Pratt wrote:
The fleshly body of Jesus required a Mother as well as a Father. Therefore, the Father and Mother of Jesus, according to the flesh, must have been associated together in the capacity of Husband and Wife . . . He had a lawful right to overshadow the Virgin Mary in the capacity of a husband, and beget a Son. [The Seer, p. 158]
(Other sources you could check are: Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 51, and Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 19.)
According to Mormonism, Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 teaches that the Father has a physical body. Therefore, their teachings deny the virgin birth of Jesus. This teaching also denies the clear Biblical teaching that Mary was with child of the Holy Ghost. Isaiah 7:14 reads:
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
The fulfillment of this prophecy is recorded in Matthew chapter 1. Matthew 1:18-20 reads:
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his Mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: For that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
The conception of Jesus was not a result of physical contact between Mary and God the Father. Jesus Christ's conception was of the Holy Ghost.
The teaching that God the Father had physical contact with Mary in order to produce Jesus in the flesh is false. Any source of falsehood should be exposed and rejected as coming from God. If it is not of God, don't follow.

Let's add, the keys to Death and Hades (Revelation 1:18) the key of David (Rev. 3:7) the key of knowledge (Luke 11:52) and the keys of the kingdom of heaven (Matt.16:19) only given to Simon/Peter.

The Mormon Religion was officially founded by Joseph Smith Jr. on April 6. 1830 after the Book of Mormon (BOM) was published in that same year.
Joseph Smith Jr. was born in Vermont on December 23, 1805. He claimed that when he was 14, he received a vision from God the Father and Jesus Christ in a grove of trees near his home where he received instructions not to join any of the Christian churches because they were all wrong.
Three years later, Smith claimed that an angel named Moroni (a character found in the BOM) appeared to him in his bedroom whom he said revealed to him that he was selected to translate "Reformed Egyptian" (a language that does not exist) from gold plates into old English. These plates were supposedly hidden near Palmyra, New York and are said to be written around the 4th century. The BOM was named after Moroni’s father, Mormon. Mormons view the BOM as sacred. No one is able to study the original plates because Joseph Smith claimed the angel took them back on May 2, 1838 (History of the Church 1:60).
Smith had a scribe named Cowdery. Smith did not actually translate directly from any plates. Rather, in his writings, he said he placed a "seer stone" in a hat and covered any light from entering it as he placed his face in the hat. According to Martin Harris, “By aid of the seer stone, sentences would appear and were read by the Prophet . . . , and when finished he would say, ‘Written,’ and if correctly written, that sentence would disappear and another appear in its place, but if not written correctly it remained until corrected,” Smith said, “By the power of God I translated the Book of Mormon from hieroglyphics".
Despite such methods of translation, there have been at least 3,913 changes made in the BOM from the time it was first published. Joseph Smith stated, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” Smith also claimed that John the Baptist appeared to him on May 15, 1829 while he was translating the BOM, and instructed him to restore the church by preaching the only true gospel.
Mormons regard the BOM as sacred writings, and view it in higher standing than that of the Holy Bible. Mormon Missionaries will ask you to pray that it is true. (See our page Pray to Know)
