A Father's Communication

A loving father communicates with his children. A righteous and faithful father will take special notice of wrong turns his child might take or is taking, and then searches for ways to direct him/her out of that situation. 

God is loving, faithful and righteous. To suggest that God had not acted in accordance with His characteristics at any time, is to dethrone Him of His rightful place in our hearts as sovereign God. We can have great assurance that the Lord God Almighty has always kept His communication lines open throughout all eras of humanity. To suggest that God had at any time in human history - not communicated to us, is to suggest that He had not acted according to His holy characteristics. To think such thoughts of God is a clear indication that there is a lack of knowledge about how loving and righteous the sovereign Lord really is. 

1 Corinthians 10:13 promises: 

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 

The same God who promised, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18), has kept this promise too. A total apostasy never happened, and could never happen, because God has been faithful throughout all eras of time. A total apostasy would mean that God had allowed His communication line to become severed. There was no need for Christ's Church to be restored, because God keeps His promises. To the people who lived before Joseph Smith, God was just as faithful then as He is today. 

We can be assured that: 

“No temptation has seized them except what is common to man. And God was just as faithful then as He is now; he has never allowed anyone to be tempted beyond what they could bear. But with that temptation, he has always provided a way out so that they could stand up under it.” 

Oh, what a faithful God He is and always has been. 

So ask yourself a question. Would you, as a loving parent, allow the communication lines to your children become severed? How much less then, should we expect God to allow His message of love to become disrupted at any time in history. Thank God for His unbroken promises, and for His unfailing love throughout all generations.
