Tips for memorizing :

You could refer to this web page on your cell phone often throughout the day to help you memorize Bible verses to share with your Mormon friends. Personally, I prefer to use 5x3 cards.

If you choose to use 5x3 cards, get multiple coloured cards. Use different coloured cards for each topic. For example, I had chosen yellow cards for "THERE IS ONLY ONE ETERNAL GOD". Write down the headings of each topic at the top, then write where the Bible verse is found underneath on the left top area, then the verse beneath that. Then write where it is found again on the bottom right of the card. I find that taking the time in writing these out helps me to memorize the verses more effectively. Keep the cards with you so you can refer to them often throughout the day.

Here is an example of how to memorize the Bible verses.

1. Say the topic heading out loud

2. Then say aloud where the passage is found

3. Then say aloud a few words of the passage (add more as your confidence grows)

4. Then say aloud where the passage is found again

Repeat this pattern until it becomes natural for you. The reason for memorizing where the Bible passages is found twice each time, is to instill it in your mind so you can point out the verse to your Mormon friends in a Bible if perchance you forget exactly how the verse goes. Once you've mastered a few words of the verse, add a few more words.

You can also refer to this web page or your cards to bring up the topics with your Mormon friend. Try using these steps for memorizing.

Repeat this and the following steps below over and over until the verses become instilled in your mind without having to look at them. The idea is to add a little more at a time as you get confident.

Continue this pattern on a daily basis. After you have mastered the topic, where the passage is found, the verse and where it is found again, refer to the next verse on this web page, or, make a new card for the next Bible passage. This time you will have two cards to carry with you. Recite them out loud every day so you don't forget them. If you don't use it, you'll lose it.

(Note: The reason the following Bible verses are in the King James Version (KJV), is that Mormons will only accept this translation as authoritative. Therefore memorizing and sharing these verses from the KJV will have more of an impact on them than if you share from another translation.)
